Facebook has a search function that lets users search for people or businesses. How does Facebook decide which business/page to put at 1st results? It's doesn't seem to be likes or reviews. Does anyone know how to optimize a page so that your page would appear as the first/top result?
It doesn't matter how many likes your facebook fan page has. That really doesn't determine your ranking. Just make sure that your fan page url is keyword optimized.
Unfortunately that's not the case. many of those that come up first don't have urls optimized at all!
Make sure that your Facebook Page Title and url are keyword optimized, write a keyword optimize description. And the use of hashtags (#) plays a big role in Facebook to come in search.
Its not about likes. In my opinion when we are talking about Facebook engagement is the key. Example, two pages on the same subject - Astronomy. One has 1000 likes, the other has 100. The former, compared to the latter, has several times more active users. Meaning people comment, like, share etc. That type of engagement might give a nice boost up. Considering your page description is highly relevant to the page and you've optimized the page so that Facebook knows that its about, lets say Apple, not the titan company, but the fruit. Treat Facebook like Google, they are very similar as a Search Engine. That's my humble opinion.
