because of trademark problem, i couldn't put any keywords relating to "ugg" on my site aukoala.com. i have my own trademark and brand. while all most of traffic comes from keyword like "ugg boots", while "UGG" is a trademark that i can't have on my site. so there is no single keyword density for "ugg boots". i am newbie to seo, can anybody help me with this problem? how can i bring my site rank top for keywords never appearing on my site. thanks

Use other keywords like "sheepskin boots" or "winter boots". I am pretty sure there'll be good amount of traffic for these keywords.

Don't worry about keyword density, it is completely diluted. A search engine won't calculate how many times your repeated your keyword compared to how many words you have on your web page.

Search engines these days are very smart and they could make the difference between a natural text that was written for users to learn and read compared to one that is stuffed with keyword and is just plain out spammy.

It's all about the variety of content you have on your site. While the keywords help, if you have images, videos, news feeds, blogs, links, etc. that relate to UGG boots, you should be fine.

    Good luck!

If you want to target a specific keyword without actually having it come up in the content of your site, I think your only option would be offline SEO - building links that point back at your site with your target keyword as the anchor text. I can't really think of any alternatives. Good luck!

The use of a trademark within your content is not affected by any form of law or regulation?

Surely what you are talking about is the breach of the freedom to voice your opinions and thoughts?

What you are claiming here would mean that i would be in breach of trademark laws by telling others on a blog that my wife had just bought some ugg boots.... ?

Not exactly correct, especially within the Google search engines.

Sites and brands have been handed penalties for 'overcooking' their keywords, resulting in a drop in rankings.

As for the comment about keyword rich articles being spammy, find the right writer and the content will flow just like any other article...

Exactly, trademark issues is in relation to the term in the domain name not content on your site.

I don't think you should have a problem with using "ugg boots" in your website content since I don't believe it is a trademark specific to a company. As far as keyword density goes, your target keyword should occur in every 100 words in your article. This is a recommendation though and you do not have to follow it if the article will end up sounding unnatural.

If you can't put in your website, you can write articles containing those keywords that you want and submit them to hundreds of directories. This will then create backlinks for your site for those keywords. There are many directories that will not mind having a trademark name in the anchor text.
