You can send using gmail but they have daily limit of I think around 400-500 per day. After 24 hours you can send another batch. But if you really want do a bulk sending, you'll be needing a tool for that. Check SendBlaster if they have free downloadable software - http://www.sendblaster.com/

try to use email services like GetResponse, Aweber, MailChimp. They are good for effective email campaigns

For a list that size you likely aren't going to find much for free but the services @Dylan Barns mentioned are all great and many let you start off with a smaller list size and tons of features for free.

You can buy smtp-hosting and write small php-script with batch-size and delay for every batch.

    Have fun.

Do not use a free service, sending this many email will only cause some issues and your emails will not be delivered. You can use something like Mailchimp with 10$/Month and send them.
You also need to test the emails with a small sample (given the list is homogeneous), and see what works best in terms of your ROI.
    Good luck

You realize blasting e-mails to people who haven't opt-in is spam and illegal?

Not to mention the fact that free services will have a terrible delivery rate.

Maybe @mohc1ne doesn't believe in the product that will be promoted and doesn't think that the outlay will be recouped?

Anyone with a genuine business to promote can justify the trivial fees charged by mailchimp etc.

If you can register Amazon SES account, you can send 60k email free every month. But it's real hard to get approval from them

    Hi:

With 10,000 subscribers you are better off using a paid service.
Several have been mentioned before. Some offer a free trial period, but with a list your size they all will charge something.
Usually you get what you pay for, so free may not get all your emails delivered.
Check out the functionality of 3-4 providers and select between one of them.
One service that hasn't been mentioned is convertkit.com but they are specifically designed for bloggers.

    Good luck,

    Dan

I have also used phplist (paid service that is quite cheap) and it has worked for me. Mostly smallish lists in the hundreds, but it works well.
