How to sell signatures, avatar, recent blog etc on DP without creating a duplicate thread?

I mean these may have to be sold again and again.....no buyer buys them for ever.

Yesterday, I have been given an infraction for duplicate thread for a DP signature auction (1st link in my sig).

reason: I had auctioned another signature (2nd link in my sig) a few days back and so my current auction became a "duplicate auction".....

(the earlier auction was for a different signature and it was BIN'ed and sold).

so now I can't sell any signature on DP????...just bcoz I had sold one in the past?

(I am not complaining about the infraction, I just want to know how to sell my signatures in the future without getting an infraction).

Complaining about infractions gets you more infractions to complain about.

You don't sell signature space, you rent it. And you rent it for a time limit. Like say a month. So if in your thread it was BINned and sold, and now you can go back to that thread and say that it is allowed again. Better than that, you can put a link in your signature saying "Signature space for rent, click here" and link it to the thread you made.

    Hope i helped.

It was probably because of the relatively small time gap between the two threads.

If the threads are a month apart, I don't think there should be a problem really.

i am also interested to know about this.
you won't have any option anymore if going back to your old thread will also be considered a violation. - bumping old threads. lol

From what I infer, the infraction for duplicate thread might have come due to the fact that the title on both the threads was exactly the same..word by word.

You should have written the title for the second thread, a little differently...I guess.

Though..this is just my observation.....and I could be wrong!

if you have an open thread for a sig link sale, have it closed then start another. just make sure you have no open threads for the same thing.

Always use the report post button to request a closure when one sale thread closes (as in BIN which you mentioned) before starting the next. And try to make it clear in the thread title that they're for different links (include the #) rather than using identical titles and nearly identical posts. If it was reported as a duplicate thread, and the title and quick look at the posts look identical, that's likely why you got an infraction. I'll forward to the mod who gave it to you, but it's at their discretion to reverse it or leave it for the nearly identical threads without requesting closure first.
