Before some one is comfortable with you.

Sell cheaper items and build some reputation, by gaining iTrader.

You and the buyer decide how you handle the money and doman.

    There is no set rules.

    Thanks

Most people don't deal with escrow unless it's HIGH $ domains.

Paypal.com is the preferred method around here I think!

Every domain sale I've been a part of has followed this method:

    Buyer pays via Paypal
    Seller transfers domain to buyer

I've sold on several forums and Ebay and this is how I've always done it.
Of course, these are mostly lower priced transactions, so if its a decent amount of money, you may want to use Escrow.com

you currently have zero itrader rating and red rep. I'd first start off by making good posts that contribute to the forum to regain green rep. Then sell some low value items in order to get a few positive itrader ratings. When your post count is higher you have more rep, adn your itrader rating is good people are more apt to bid in your auctions and purchase items you have for sale.

slipxaway, do you mean that I receive the payment first and then transfer the domain or vice versa ?

Yeh, like I said, unless its a decent amount of money then you want to use escrow. Always get the money first, because once you transfer the domain, you no longer own it and saving a messy court battle, you're pretty much screwed. On the other hand if someone pays first and the buyer never transfers, they do have some recourse, like doing a chargeback or whatever.
Just make sure that you tell the buyer where to send the money (i.e. your paypal email) and then try to push the domain as soon as you see the money in your account.

This is how it's always worked for me on the selling end and I've never run into any problems or complaints. Results may vary :)

    Hello slipxaway,

What is "chargeback" ? Like the paypal payer asking the paypal to cancel the money sent to the domain owner ?

What if, i have transferred the domain but then the buyer asks paypal to cancel the payment ? :D

What is "push the domain" ? How to do that ? How can it be done if I buy my domain from GoDaddy.com ?

    Thanks. :)

Yeah, thats what a chargeback is. Where someone asks Paypal or their credit card company to essentially reclaim the money. And yes, there is always the possibility that someone could do that even after recieving the domain. Thats why if it's a decent amount of money, you should use Escrow (even though that is not entirely safe either).

Personally, for high dollar transactions, I'd try to find a service where the buyer sends money to the service, then you transfer the domain to the service, then they transfer it to the buyer. I know there are some out there, but I can't remember who does it. Escrow works differently, where the buyer pays, then you transfer the domain to the buyer, then Escrow tries to confirm that the domain was transfered and then they pay you. But I've heard of cases where the buyer got the domain, changed only the email address, and then Escrow really couldn't confirm that it was transfered and so the seller never got paid.

There are scammers everywhere I suppose.

And basically to push a domain, you would choose the "account change" option in GD and then put in the email address for the new owner. It asks for other contact info, but you can fill that with whatever, just make sure you put their email address in.

    Hello slipxaway,

Can you find out the service ?

What is the safest way to get paid as I have some very high money domains.

    Thanks.
