i saw sedo, but how my main concern is how can you estimate the value of a website? would u determine it by backlinks, content, etc? I want to know an estimate or actual value, like getting an appraisal of a house

you can determine value by posting a "appraise" my domain or website thread here or other places like it or pay a company to appraise it. The idea is to know your market or find a broker that does.

Most domainers sell domains and push them for free to other domainers with the same company otherwise there is a charge to transfer a domain. Watch out for companies that charge for the push like 1and1

    Hope this helps.

the price of a domain is based on many factors from the length to the name to the backlinks it already has if any to the PR, so hard to judge this really, and to sell you can start on ebay, domains sell great for what i know.

Get it appraised. Search for similar domains names or the domain names related to that particular industry which had been sold earlier.

Browse some domain sales section on domain name selling sites and forums and then you can put some approximate pricing on your own domain name.

what are some sites out there that are accurate that can give me a average appraisal? I went to leapfish and it was a ppraised at such a low cost, then I went to nameboy and dnscoop and it was appraised at the similar range and at a high price

I do not know what it actually looks for or the variables are besides maybe traffic backlinks etc.

I think a human appraisal would be far better then the automated appraisal.

You can get your domain name appraised here on DP itself in the domain appraisal section. If you want then you can also register and get an appraisal on my own forum :)
