Can anyone give me some good articles or tell me a few things on how to sell ad space. My site is getting bigger and people have begun to approach me, about advertising on my site, Unfortunately I don't know which prices I should set and things like that. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
it really depends on the volume of your traffic. you could approach one of the adnetworks like etype, advertising.com, platform-a, adviva etc and ask them if they would like to include you in their portfolio of sites. they then take on the responsibility of finding advertisers on a CPM or hybrid basis and will share the revenue with you. the other option is you approach companies direct with a package - you will need a light media pack for this explaining your site traffic, demographic, history. my expeience is most companies refer you to their affiliate program - unless you have a high volume or niche target. sorry I cannot be more specific but like most things digital the response really varies based on your site, genre and traffic. the above is my experience, others may differ. Hmmm...try to look around forums and submit a bid to test the market. Find out how much people are willing to pay for based on your expectation and just follow the market value.
