How to sell ad space on my blogs?

How can I go about selling ad space on my blog? I have a blog about acting and I get approx 10,000 visits per day, and make $2000+ per month. I use adsense and kontera. How would I go about selling ad space directly? For instance, if I wanted to approach a large acting school about selling ad space, how would I approach them. and how would I know how much to charge? Also is it ok to do that and still use adsense?

    Any help would be appreciated.

First off, congrats on your site, that is a healthy amount of traffic :)

You can definitly run other advertising programs with adsense, not a problem

Have you set up an advertising information page on your site? Chances are you have lots of readers already that would like to advertise with you. THat would be my first step, create a page outlining the benefits of advertising with your site. Try that out first and let them come to you without chasing companies up.

    Good Luck :)

Just tell people that you get around 10,000 daily hits, and you have plenty of space for inexpensive advertising.

    What's so hard?

Also, create a page for your rates and stats for your visitors to go to if they want to advertise with you. Look at other sites for examples.

On the opposite end of ths stick, I send a quick e-mail asking site owners if I can advertise on their site: "Hello. My name is Perry Rose. I run TheList.FM. I would like to advertise on your site. Please e-mail me or call me if you are interested. Thanks."

    Just ask!

For that amount, 10,000, you don't want to charge more than a couple of hundred a month. If that. That is, if you are going to charge in that manner. Less than 1% click on ads. Of those, less than 5% of them will buy something.

So, from 10,000, how many sales would an advertiser get? Maybe, maybe a few sales a week???

Do the math, and take it from there on how much to charge where it will be fair for both you and the advertisers.
