Isn't there ways to scam PayPal or something - if they just said they didn't receive anything (and there is no proof of a transaction (ie. shipping), because it is a site). What service would you recommend?

There is much proof to a PayPal transaction.

You get a receipt for each transaction!

Sell thru escrow.com if the amount is big enough that you don't want to risk.
Or better you should just don't risk it.
Probably there is a reason why only people with 0 itrader are interested to pay you that amount.

Paypal buyer can claim the transaction is not authorized (ie someone hacked his paypal id),
and paypal will take your money away.

moneybookers.com, as they can't make no chargeback or disputes etc. Or Bank transfer if they are in the same country.

I agree with Johnnyboi91, I haven't personally used Moneybookers but I have dealt with Paypal in regards to being scammed out of money for "virtual goods". Someone pays you w/ Paypal, and then they can either do a chargeback on their credit card, or just simply say to paypal that it was an Un-authorized transaction and they WILL take your money.

    I suggest Moneybookers or Escrow.com

    Good luck!

I would use Paypal, but I wouldn't transfer the domain until you have transferred the money from paypal to your bank account.

But then PayPal could still screw you over by charging your credit card - so what difference would it make?

Of course PayPal could screw you over... They can hold your money, automatically refund, or charge your credit card...

    What you should do...

Sell the site, and for payment make sure you invoice the buyer, clearly stating that the payment is for XYZ site and domain. If the email used to pay is the same one used to push to, that should solve all problems.

If it's a different email, make sure you wait 24 hours (minimum) in case s/he is using a phished account and the real owner comes back and finds that they're $xxx amount out of pocket.

If you think this, than you my friend are the ignorant one..... Just check the Payment Processor forum on DP.... Check out all the PaypalSucks.com sites, etc.... its getting worse from what I can see. Of course they are just trying to protect their buyers, but sellers have pretty much nil protection these days.

    Actually it's "you're"

Calling some one ignorant for being cautious is totally inappropriate.

    I agree.

Best thing to do is for them to pay you and you give them access to the FTP. Do not take anything other than full payment up front for sites where the bidder has no record.
