Hey Guys, I recently found out that my Missus and I are going to have our first child !! So needless to say, I am thinking about selling the majority of my sites, as I will need more spare time, the cash, a steady website with earnings. At this point in time I am starting to struggle because of all the appointments and new commitments, and so are the sites as a result. So what's the easiest way to sell : 40+ Blogger Blogs. (Old but PR dropped / haven't posted much of late) 40 Directories / Hosted Search Engines. (PR3 and PR4 - atleast 300-400 Pages with PR) 15+ Blogs and Sites on 2 Semi Dedicated Servers. (PR3s, PR2s) Should I sell them as a whole ? In small groups ie. 40 Blogger Blogs. 40 Directories. 15 Blogs and Sites. In similar neiche groups. What's the best way to sell these sites ? Where should I sell them all ? Is there a way to hire someone to sell them commision based ? Looking for ideas before I launch my sales - possibly here at DP. Thanks, Jason
It really depends on how much profit these sites create all together. Yo can just list a whole load of them in the site selling area here, but that means you'll have to provide stats of traffic and revenue of each site independantly. Of course you probably have a longtime before you want them sold so gradually selling them off will provide a more of a profit until all of these sites together create such a huge profit that some big shot will buy the bunch. I wouldn't see a reason to hire someone to sell them, you got 9 months or something like that. It's a matter of profiting the most if your going to walk away. "hiring someone commission based". Obviously anyone would jump to this deal. And it's easy enough. First, you get someone who knows enough about sites, and who is an "ADULT"(yes, there's a lot of kids around). When looking for someone you need to ask a few questions like "Where would you be selling them?". You have to spend some time getting the stats. You get proof of earnings and traffic for each site, zip them and hand them to this individual in a nice named fashion so it doesn't get confusing. Also, you need to give him a base price for what you want each site sold for, so you'll need to do some math. If the seller knows that there is enough room to sell it than they will agree. come up with a buy it now price as well which has the commission in it. This will help speed up the process of selling them off. If he lists a bunch of sites and they go like hotcakes, except for a couple which seem to never get any attention, even after trying to list them alone all over the internet he will email you about it. Everytime he sells a site he will E-mail you the following: 1. The spot it was sold 2. The price 3. He will send the money through paypal or whatever already taking his cut that was agreed. 4. He will ask you for the Download link to the Website zipped or whatever is needed to transfer. It's actually a very easy setup, but yes, you will be getting a load of E-mails, but at least this is being handled. Probably it will happen quick though, so you may be busy zipping like crazy. Oh and one more thing. If you try to sell a bunch at a time to one person and the price goes over around $3000 you will have major problems with completing the transaction because having prices that high is tough to get serious buyers. A lot of people will waste your time and you'll be constantly mad becasue of people backing out.
Well yeah in regards to how much they make : A) I was selling inclusions / bulk submissions into all directories. B) I was sending visitors to my main site via thumbs / links in header. C) Blogs really dependent on what I do ie. Blog Posting, PTP sites - I am making $100 a week from one Blog. D) Adsense varies, as I can have adult sites or links, or erase adult content for adsense inclusion. The search engines / directories have between 2000 searches a day to the lowest 20 searches a day. I guess the real value lies in the PR and SEO purposes, the amount earned differs to campaigns that I run. I kind of want to sell them all at once or in large packages, I hate the messing around with heaps of individual sites/sales, I have until may to sell them off - however I would like to establish just one major site to maintain my online lifestyle and make a living off before then (of course the size of sale $$ will help in many ways).
You sound like your choosing time over money. Your son/Daughter will be upset when they demand a 2117 Mustang Cobra Tornado when they are 17. Considering that you are trying to stay online with just one big player site than the extra money will help but if you are choosing time, you should just try to sell it here and see what happens. Then again you have unitl may. Most of the time people can sell sites by 30 or 40 a week. You have enough time. Get the total stat proof, total profit proof, Make a topic on in the site selling spot here. Make sure to have the starting price high enough to only get serious buyers, have a BIN price, and mention there is a reserve.
That's a very tough question : I will answer your question with a question. What's your CPM for your site ? How many visitors can you snag from the 10 000+ Visitors per day to your site (from the search engine/directories)? Because that's what I do, so it depends on your site, although some have adsense on them and make $1 - $2 a day, I was selling submissions into them (SEs) for $8. Blogs make $100 - $120 a week depending on PTP opportunities, I don't have time to monitor or keep up with PTP any more though. Couple adult sites make $10 - $20 a week. Really it depends on how active I am and if I keep on top of it all - which I'm not any more, and can you sell SEO, can you sell links, are you a good marketer ?
