If domain is priced high, you can sell it using sedo or use escrow service like escrow.com in order to avoid abuse.

I will try to withdraw the money first and then transfer the domain.

Well, if the domain is not that much high priced then I guess paypal would be risky as paypal will favor buyer most of the times. Though it is not at all impossible to sell domain via paypal. You just need to keep all the email and chat conversation with the buyer. In short every details you got of the buyer.

If you still use PayPal, then send money request to buyer and select "SERVICES" type when sending money request. If buyer will try to cheat, he won't be able to get his money back so easily (because PayPal protection applies to physical goods in most cases, unless transaction was fraudulent)

The only thing you really can do is protect yourself as much as possible by maintaining a log of all conversations between you and the buyer, as someone here has already pointed out.

Paypal will do anything to protect the buyer to the point of making use of its platform very unattractive for selling so you must do whatever you can to be able to prove a legitimate transaction took place that all parties had agreed on.

Also, I have seen in most of the case buyer open dispute once he got the domain name and win the dispute. So its necessary go gather all the information before you push the domain name.

Yes, in that case it is very important for you to provide all the related details with the buyer. If you have chat conversation, emails, anything. It will help paypal to get the thing resolved to the right person/.

Create an invoice using a script like WHMCS where the buyer needs to agree with the terms and conditions and then buy the domain.

It will not change anything in case buyer decides to open dispute.

    Of course!

There are many payment gateways, just do a quick search on this forum :) or google to find out which meets your needs the best.

PayPal is amazing for the buyer; they do most certainly place the suspicion on the seller.

eBay was great until fees and increased regulation made it impossible for sellers to turn the regular profits they used to and eventually left eBay all together for other platforms (such a perfect representative of a free market economy fighting against central authority).

There is no way to sell it safely.

Either use an Escrow service, or log conversations, proof of purchase, etc, and if you do get scammed, try to be with a registrar who will help you.

You can reduce your risk by only accepting payments from Verified PayPal accounts.
