Hello Guyz, Whats the proper way to sell a domain name using paypal? How to avoid fraud ? When to push the domain ? My Domain is with name.com, will they help me if anything unexpected happens? Thanks
If domain is priced high, you can sell it using sedo or use escrow service like escrow.com in order to avoid abuse.
If you still use PayPal, then send money request to buyer and select "SERVICES" type when sending money request. If buyer will try to cheat, he won't be able to get his money back so easily (because PayPal protection applies to physical goods in most cases, unless transaction was fraudulent)
with paypal itz risk coz if he done any fraud mean the buyer then all money got back and may be ur paypal get ban
The only thing you really can do is protect yourself as much as possible by maintaining a log of all conversations between you and the buyer, as someone here has already pointed out. Paypal will do anything to protect the buyer to the point of making use of its platform very unattractive for selling so you must do whatever you can to be able to prove a legitimate transaction took place that all parties had agreed on.
Also, I have seen in most of the case buyer open dispute once he got the domain name and win the dispute. So its necessary go gather all the information before you push the domain name.
Create an invoice using a script like WHMCS where the buyer needs to agree with the terms and conditions and then buy the domain.
based on overall comments, i see paypal not fair to seller??!! is it true? do seller have other alternative than paypal (if seller want to sell low priced domain)?
Of course! There are many payment gateways, just do a quick search on this forum or google to find out which meets your needs the best. PayPal is amazing for the buyer; they do most certainly place the suspicion on the seller. eBay was great until fees and increased regulation made it impossible for sellers to turn the regular profits they used to and eventually left eBay all together for other platforms (such a perfect representative of a free market economy fighting against central authority).
thanks.. i found some... but if my previous buyer have good reputation, i still use paypal. i think this way, we can sell safely with paypal.
There is no way to sell it safely. Either use an Escrow service, or log conversations, proof of purchase, etc, and if you do get scammed, try to be with a registrar who will help you.
Often it's out of PayPal's control. If someone uses a credit card to pay via PayPal and then does a charge back through their credit card company then PayPal has little choice and is forced to refund the money to the credit card company.
