How to Select a winner randomly

    I want to create a contest. Lets say if 100 members decide to participate in the contest, i want to know how to choose a winner randomly from the 100 participants.

    Assign a person a number, and it generates a random number, and that person wins

    php rand(), but then u would need to input quite a bit of data.

    use random functions within 100 :p for a simple solution

    or just divide the prize :D

    Easiest method: have all the entrants on a list, turn around three times with your eyes closed and place your finger somewhere on the screen. Winner!

    Input them all into a database (mysql). use php to return 1 result in random order.
