How to save yourself from scam and fraud

I heard that if anyone ever requests payment via Western Union then it is a scam so run a mile. Other than that it is usually just a question of common sense. Never take anything at face value and always do your research before parting with any money or details. I think some people get so caught up in the moment online when they think they are going to make some easy cash that they do things that they would never do offline in the 'real' world. My advice would be to always look before you leap and treat every offer you encounter with a healthy dose of scepticism before jumping into anything.
