How to safely buy a domain?

    Hi guys, I've been offered a meaningful keyword domain by a local seller. I just wondered how to ensure that you deal runs smoothly and if there's any checked that I should be doing on the domain prior to buying it?

    Any help would be great as I've never done this before.

    Hi devs

    You may do the following:

    1. Do a WHOIS search on the domain and e-mail the owner at the email address found in the WHOIS results. Just confirm with them whether they are indeed selling the domain name.

    2. You may also want to do a few checks on the seller, e.g.: search his e-mail address or Paypal address on Google to see if there are any comments on him somewhere on the Internet.

    3. You may also want to search on the domain name itself. Just see if someone has not reported any comments on the domain.

    4. If still in doubt, go via www.escrow.com. This way you know you will get the domain and not loose your money.
