How to restore a WP site with only a backup of the database?Help!

    Hello everyone,

    I'm having problems restoring my movie site on a new host. My previous host had run with the money and I only have an backup of the database at the moment,no file backup. Is it possible to restore the site? I just can't work it out. I can't open the single post page after I installed WP,imported the database and did all the necessary work. There must be something I overlooked.

    Any help will be highly appreciated.Or PM me if you can restore the site for me for a small charge.

    Make sure you are using the correct db. Check the config.php file for the db name.

    As you have DB backup with you that means you can easily restore your wp blog. Do you have all theme files or you need to upload new theme there.

    You can restore your content with the database backup by installing a fresh WP install and then importing the files through MYSQL.

    why fresh installation :confused: ? he can simply import db annd change wp-config.php variables
