I am Using Wordpress 2.3..But i had a problem with rename categories tag.. For example if i view any category articles from my Blog URL structure like this... myblogname.com/category/products/ I want to change the structure like myblogname.com/custom-name/products/ How can i do this ???
I'm fairly certain that you can't rename categories because of the way they've been hard coded into Wordpress. Maybe you can 301 direct them? I don't know what the consequences would be, though.
of course you can rename your categories in WordPress... in your admin dashboard, click "manage",click"categories" and then scroll down to the category you want to rename and click"edit" once you've made your changes, click "edit category"
I think you can change what you want in the permalinks menu. It lets you change the sub-folder away from "categories"
Yes of course it's possible, simply go into your Admin menu... Then click on the "Options" tab.. then click on the "Permalinks" tab.... then you will see the box where you can change category to a custom name...
I think he's referring to the link you see when you click a category link (myblog.com/category/shoes, myblog.com/category/cars, etc) - not referring to creating a new category or renaming one
You can rename the category name by editing the HTML code. I have done the same thing with my blog sites.
