Hi! The only way to remove unwanted links is to start writing a letter to each webmaster to remove the link.

Make the letter as official as possible, use legal language (like all attorneys use) with all the needed descriptions about law violation.

    Good Luck!

I think a friendly letter will be more useful when asking a favor compared to an unsubstantial threat. Posting a link on a site is nothing you can do about legally. In most legislations posting links and writing opinions about a website is covered by freedom of speech.

Of course you can always block certain referrers by using htaccess. Google will recognize redirects.

Interesting idea! But, are you sure Google recognizes that redirect and "kills" the bad link to your site?

Thats a great idea. You can use .htaccess or on the common header file detect the referrer and prevent it.

Are you even sure these links are negatively affecting your SERPS? How do you know this? Does anyone have a tool to check for Google penalties? I ask because depending on the number of links, I highly doubt it is going to be worth the effort in getting them removed. Your time may be better spent creating, new quality links to counter act them.

    JOM,
are you able to post the referencing link for this Bad Neighborhoud tool. I'm interested in seeing it.

I've done a few searches looking for an application that does this and came up with nothing. Any help appreciated.

I've never heard of getting flack for having links to your site but rather linking to sites.

The only thing Google has to say about it is:
In particular, avoid links to web spammers or "bad neighborhoods" on the web, as your own ranking may be affected adversely by those links.

Then why the new pages are not caching fast as before. Contents are unique site was really performing well for all the main keywords , I used to update it every week. But i do miss to update it in a week, sometimes it will take me 15 days to update sometimes it will take 10 days or 7 days to update, is this the reason why my pages are not caching fast...
