Hi , Pen tool works better than lasso as told by others. studios do it by same color background thats why its easy. Regards
if you are a beginner then use the lasso tool...and if you are expert and have a smooth and firm hand than use the pen tool...
I also use lasso tool for cropping or deleting the background, i also add some feather to it to be smoother.
Pen Tool is much better to Lasso Tool I think. This is just my opinion do not be overwhelmed everybody!
Hi! yes there are many tools in photoshop to cut the background, its depend on your work that which tool you use easily! so my suggest is that you have to use pen tool first ,and see the tutorial ! and you will see most of tutorial used lasso tool which is to easier to cut the background.
I suggest pen tool when you talk about selections. It is really great to use it. Give it a try. Hope it will help you. Thanks !
I think it's better to get the tutorial, you may visit youtube. and search how to removed background.
Pen tool comes in handy for this kind of work . It will be a pain in the learning stage but when one masters it that will be his favorite selection tool
not if you zoom in your image to a very big size then you will find this tools are the same and you will not need a firm hand
You can use the "extract" feature: 1. Open the extract tool: Image>Extract or Option/Alt+Cmd/Ctrl+X 2. Take the marker tool and trace around the image you want to extract. Keep the marker 1/2 way on the image and 1/2 on the background. For solid areas use a small brush, for softer areas like the loose hair, use a larger brush. Tip: to adjust the brush size use the [ and ] keys. 3. Now take the bucket tool and fill the area you want to keep.Click OK. 4. There will be a few areas that have been accidentally deleted. You can clean up the image using the eraser and the history brush. 5. In the history pallette, click next to the image before the extract state. Select the history brush. 6. Select a small brush size and "paint" back the image. Now you can place the image onto any background you wish. 7. Thank the people at Photoshop Cafe for this tutorial!
if you want to get the good result. i suggest pen tool. its tough to use at beginning stage.its a 100% Quality. or goto normal result try wand tool (change the pix range depends upon color depth). but you will get only 50-75% quality
Using magic wand is good just when you have one or 2 colors background, then I usually edit it in the quick mask mode when needed.
Use magic wand and if you are using photoshop CS5 (right click and use refine edges) Play around with some settings till you find what you are looking for
