    Hi

How can I remove the "advertise on this site" links on adsense ad?

I guess its a big traffic leak.

    Thanks!

go to "My account" then click on "Onsite Advertiser Sign-Up" edit, then uncheck "Include me in Onsite Advertiser Sign-Up". it may take a day or so for them to disappear.

Won't that keep you from getting per impression ads though?

    Hi guys,

I have always left that on my adsense ads as I assume it might help you to make more money. Are there any disadvantages to having this message displayed?

I agree, I've already had someone let me know that they signed up thru it specifically to target my site, it can only help to drive up bids.

I removed it because it shows the site you originally used to sign up with to adsense.

    Edit:
    Great tip Explorer, thanks!

If you don't want it to show this, go to

my account and then scroll down to Onsite Advertiser Sign-Up.

Click edit and you'll get through to the Onsite Advertiser Sign-Up page. Near the top of this page, you'll see a box that contains the www.address of the site you signed up with. Just click in the box and use your backspace key to delete the name of the site. Leave the box empty.

Once you've done this you'll find that if anyone clicks on "advertise on this site" they'll get through to a sign-up page that shows the correct website name. :)

I don't know how long you've all had this option, but 'Advertise on this site' only appeared on my site two days ago (despite being able to edit the landing page a month or so ago). Since it has appeared my revenue has gone up by about 20%. Maybe it is a flash in the pan - you can't tell after just two days, can you - but I'll be leaving it be for a while.

Do you get a commission for sending advertisers to Google? If not, then why bother...you can earn more by offering your own on-site ads.

If you turn on the option it would take some time for potential advertisers to notice and sign up to advertise on your site, so I don't think you'll see any kind of immediate effect by turning it on. Since Google doesn't allow us any way to see if advertisers are signing up, it would be difficult to tell if ANY change in revenue or CTR were due to this option being enabled.

I've chosen to turn it off -- it takes 24 to 48 hours for any changes to take place. Until they provide a way to have separate landing pages for multiple sites under one account, I'll just opt out for now.

Exactly why I turned my off. Ever since those links appears I was making less, maybe due to the fact the ads were more cluttered with all that text at the top, making it look more spammy. Not sure.

Anyway, we sell ad spots directly to customers as well, and we make much more than this feature appeared to be making for us.

It is different for each site, you just have to evaluate the stats.

Like anything you should always test changes. I personally have not had a problem running Adsense after turning off the "advertise" link. Not sure why others would, but if you remember the thread you should post it here.
