How to reindex my updated blog post content?

I have old blog posts (>15 posts) created 6 months ago. For some reason, rather than creating new post, I just updated the old content with additional information.
What I want: when someone search the post, they can see the updated/new content. My question:
    1) Do I need to use http://www.google.com/addurl/?continue=/addurl to reindex my URL?
    2) Or should I do nothing and just let the google crawl it automatically? If so, how long will it be updated? Why it took > 1 week and still haven't been updated? In contrast, when I submit NEW post, it was indexed quickly within 1 hour.

Just submit the sitemap to Google Webmaster Tools,
the crawler will index your posts.

Submit a sitemap with that URL and it'll be updated once the post gets crawled.

Just submit the sitemap and when you update the site, google will crawl the site.

Direct backlinks towards those inner pages will help too.

1- link to updated posts from famous forums like DP and many others
2- interlink your inner pages properly and robots will keep jumping from a page to another thus indexing all your pages and update them regularly.
