    Now everyone can register already. I've just signed up for 2 accounts.
    It's similar to facebook, except you can group the people into different circles.

    If you have gmail account which is very much older i think you will get approval quickly.I had applied for this with my 3years old gmail account and i got instant approval.

    I bought a Google+ invitation off eBay for .99 cents two weeks ago. There's tons of them on there and some go to charity. It was worth it and I love the "circles" feature!
