How to register .fr/.it domain

    Hello,

    I want to register an expired .fr and .it domain. I am based in india and dont have any registered company/business in those countries.

    Is it possible for me to register a .fr and .it name?

    which companies do you recommend for registering .fr and .it domains?

    For .fr you would need to live/have a business in France afaik.
    Have a look at the terms on eurodns.com.

    I think you need to live in Italy too, to register .it maybe some hosting company offer an agent to do it.

    Italian register need a fax with all data of the registrant, it sux.

    Well, for both it and fr, you need to find a company which will register it for you.... a company which paid a licence to those local nic to register fr or it domains.

    yes, I had a chat with one guy based in france, He told me that they have facility to register .fr domains on their name and then they will give me a certificate of ownership for my domain.

    Other person told me that I cannot buy, develop and resell .fr domain names as if there is some other business with that name in france, they can make a claim for that domain. :(

    I have found some good names and I just want to register them and then sell them after doign some work on them.

    Yes for Italy you should have someone who represent you located in Italy. You can try having a look at register.it they offer this kind of services for user who want to register domain in Deutchland and other countries so perhaps they also do it for people who want to register .it. The downside is that they're really expensive ... around 35 Euro for an .it domain which can be registered at 5.95 from tophost.it

    I have registered both the domains .fr and .it with registerfly and have used address of france for same.

    they have deducted the amount frm my available funds, but both the names are still showing as available when I search for them... and good thing is that I see them in my control panel as well.. :D

    I contacted registerfly and they said registration failed and have refunded my money.... but now the .fr domain I was going to register has been taken by someone else.:(

    I will now try for .it domain.

    Do we have any .it registrars on these forums and what are your prices for same.
