how to register a US state domain (i.e. .ny.us)

    Does anyone know how to do this? I visited nic.us and it mentions nothing about it. The list of suggested registrars don't seem to offer them for sale, either...

    AFAIK it's not possible to get a xxxx.ny.us or similar subdomain. I believe they are reserved for state governments.
