how to regester a site to make it legal

i dont know whether this is right section or not if not plz move it to appropriate section, i would like to start a video hosting site like youtube, megavideo and would like to make it as legal by regestering how can i do that anyone can tell me

 

what??? registering your site as in what? copyright it? obviously can't do that

 

Any site has a unique name. It is automatically registered with your name. No anyother can use it until you pay its hosting and domane charges.

 

You could register your site as a company with a local State, but there is no website-registry as far as I know (apart from domains)

 

You can copyright certains parts of your site like design, logo, colors, slogan, etc. But usually you don't have to take it that far because once you create the site the copyright is basically given to you.

 

i would agree and say copywright parts of your site to stop people form taking them and using them as there own.

 

You can register your sites:
name
logo
design

only if they are unique

 

If you're starting a business then you need to register your business depending on where you live etc..

Other than that nothing needs to be done. You might want to register your trademark (IIRC that costs a bomb), and anything you write or create on the site is automatically covered under 'poor mans' copyright. You may eventually want to apply for legal copyright eventually or use a license that already exists (depending on what you are copyrighting).

 

I think he means he wants the stolen content to be "legal."

Just sprinkle some magic legal dust on the site.

 

Confusing. Maybe he wants to register his own online business or run a business online? Get a name for your business as your domain, buy that and choose a host. Too many web hosting companies online.
