OFFpage/Onpage SEO is No.1 (the key), unique/quality content is no.2 (the king), Backlinks is no.3 (the queen)

 

It comes down to quality backlinks and quality content.... It has always been that way, but now it's just enforced... Hence the "panda" update!

Consistency is Key! Maintain a steady stream of backlinks and content, and you will do just fine. If you want to pick it up a notch, go right ahead, just make sure you stay consistent with what your doing now, as opposed to what you were doing before.

I think there are two major things for ranking #1 page on Google - Quality Content and Quality Links.

 

its not only about the marketing of the web page but it is also related to the development of the web page. dont just look for the keywords and contents, but also look for the page sizes and image sizes on your page. SERP not only relies on the keywords and contents, it also looks for the loading time and speed of your website. its all about survival of the fittest. the faster will be your website, the higher will be its ranking.

 

so what if you have a news website? would backlinks matter for that?

 

I have able to know that both the things matter,CONTENT + BACKLINKS both are very necessary to get search engine rankings. You can also regain it by changing and updating your content on daily basis

 

if you have a news website, than you should be more concerned about contents change and when contents will be changed you should also change the keywords on daily and sometimes hourly basis. page size should not be too much and also look for the compressed images. backlinks matter alot but again here comes the high quality backlinks. backlinks should be relevant to your content
