As google updates their indexing policy and in the new policy the give priority which has less load time. This is become the problem for me.
As i have a website which has an average load time of 28 sec. And am losing my SERP's rank day by day. Previously i was on the 1st page now i can find myself on 2nd or 3rd page.

Please help me to reduce the load time of my site.

    Thanks in advance.

Why does it ask for so much time to load your site? You cannot improve it?

load time will not have too much effect on serp ranking .Just concentrate on backlinks and you will get better rankings. There are so many important factors other than load time.

Here's the big problem — Most surfers, myself included, tend to move on to another page when the one they are trying to access loads too slowly.

The first thing to look at is how many slow-loading images you have on your page(s). Too many, or too big, images can really slow down loading.

    Hi, suvosaha

I think 28 sec is really too long. I have a 5.9 sec load time but Google said it is lower than 60% sites.

I think it all depends on what scripts you used to build your sites if you want to speed up your sites. And, it also relates to the hosting services you have registered.

    Have a nice day,

I too use Godaddy. Some DPers don't like it, but I've been quite satisfied with it.

Calm down and step back from the bridge. Loading speed was something that was discussed and could possibly affect your rankings. There are ways to reduce your website load speed for one have proper coding and use less images within the site but to think your being strictly penalized for your load speed you are wrong. There are many factors that affect your rankings and I'm sure the load speed is not the only thing that is causing the drop or even possible fluctuations.

    What mgandy said.

I mean wth? it's still important to make your site look good.

I load up on pics on my site (100k+). In 2009 if that's a problem then it's not mine.

You can check my site from my signature. Few days ago i had min 150 users online every time. Now it reduces to 50 to 60 sometimes 10 to 30 in night (as per Indian Standard Time).

I don't have any idea about how a server hosting company can affect the load time.
Please if any one explain it. I want to know how they can affect loading.

load time will never be a major ranking factor for ranking in SERP's.

if a user is asked to choose between quality content and a content that loads 3 seconds faster, what would he choose?

unless a site's load time is so horrible that users close the pages before fully reading them, there is nothing to worry about.

I think that is the original poster's problem — a 28-second load time! He is undoubtedly losing much traffic, as people leave his page because they are not willing to wait that long for it to load.

good news friends. Now load time is reduced to 17.7 though its higher than others but only few pages are taking time to load as they contained very rich documents.
