How to reduce the image size to fit the image content box while adding custom?

I am using CSS gallery theme,I need to display content picture in the front page for each post as a gallery showcasing all my word press posts.
But when I tried to add a new custom name and value as "thumbs" and "link to my pic URL" , in the main page the picture detailing all the posts in the home page is displayed in the original size stretching out the page and all the posts are arranged in a zig zig manner which makes it pretty ugly.
Can you help me or tell the code which I need to add for the pic to be displayed normally instead of like that?
    thanks

But I need the HTML code which I need to input so that it fits the box size of the gallery.
Any guide explaining this.or what is the code to make that image inside that box perfectly?
