    Hello

I have a wordpress 3.1.2 website. It's hosted by Yahoo India.

Whenever I post any blog,I want to post an image next to the content that i posted.

It says maximum image size allowed is 50 MB.

I am totally new to websites and images.

Now when I post an image,it shows errors on my site, because the image size exceeded 50 MB.

Can someone tell me in simple steps, how to reduce the image size to 50 MB?

    Thanks..

I think something is wrong. It should be 50KB not 50 MB, If you are able to load 50 MB image, then you will not be able to load your website properly.

The first thing that she should do is to get in touch with Yahoo and check why this is happening because a 50MB image is quite impossible if not taken with a ultra HD camera with telezoom and the highest pixel. :)

First find out, if the image you are intend to upload really exceed 50 mb. And if you need to just search in Google with "image file size optimizer" - there a lot of free tools available to download or even online and they are pretty easy to use too.

First You have to know the real size of image as radiant_luv said. I assume you not know so To know you image size point your mouse on image file (do not open it). A popup window will open which show Dimensions, Type, Size. See Size is it show MB or KB. If it show KB there is something wrong with script. If it is really more than 50Mb then open image with paint for do this ( Right Click on image-->Open With-->Choose Program...-->Paint-->Ok) your image will open in Paint. Now go to (file-->Save As... --> Save as type: ) Now select JPEG format it will be good if you give you image another name and Save your image. It will reduce image size. See what it size now
