Answer depends on your site. Are you running a lot of cron jobs, are you downloading content from external sources? Some more information about your configuration would be helpful in getting a meaingful answer.

Well sounds like you need to upgrade the server.
But what are you using it for? you can always optimize the images and also the code especially if your doing things like database searches for a forum.
Caching is sometimes a good idea as well to stop a page always been dynamicly created for all of the users access your website.

Make sure that you have caching enabled and you could reduce the number of plug-ins or extras you have that load on your site.

you may consider an upgrade to a vps in case there is a heavy traffic on the site. or rather dedicted server if the traffic is extremely high.

try wp-supercache, use less plugins, and a new hosting company.

If you are using Autoblog plug in and there are hell lot of Posts are being posted reduce the Update Time.
Try Wp-Supercache and if you are running 10-20 sites on a single host then move to a new host and host it alone.

What kind of plugins or mods are you using? Those tend to be the cause for poor performance.

Hi, first thanks to all for helpful answer.

@ASPkit : I do not use cron jobs neither download from external resources. Just ordinary blog with lot of images :)

@ZTank, @micksss, @starangel, @LbR : Cache plugin not yet installed, yeah my big mistake.

I use random image plugin, global translator, headspace2. Any of these plugins make high loads?

The other reason can be getting a large number of spam messages. Integrating Akismet system will greatly reduce the server load caused by the unwanted comments.
