Yeah i agree with infoman66 if a person is not able to understand that what are you selling then its not his fault.and if your site taking lots of time while loading pages then its also a big problem...because there are lots of sites for selling products..if a user found your site slow then he will visit other site.

I think you should track how much keywords visited by end user track them and then update your content on regular basis sometime it happen when end user come with different mind set and don't get from website you need to write more your keywords specific content and update it on regular basis that will help you secondly write more your product or services related Article with some regular interval so end user will come to know more about your products

Few things you have to do in your site to keep the visitor busy in your site pages
    1) good color contrast background
    2) more useful informative content
    3) track the exit pages and entrance sources
    4) Do content optimization
    5) lack of good navigation
    6) use of cool images

Redesign your site with google guidelines. Make your web page for visitor not for Search engine is the bottom line

Well the lower your bounce rate the better, if you have about 50% that is usually good so 60% is not so bad. But if you want to make it lower, make sure you give the visitor what they are looking for.

Here are my tips for reducing bounce rate:

    1. Review the look and feel of the site
    2. Provide very high quality content
    3. Every page should deliver on what its description states
    4. Find out which frequently visited pages have high bounce rate and change the content for those pages.

    Another thing ...

    5. Find out if a particular screen resolution or a particular browser has much higher bounce rate than others (in Google Analytics / Visitors). If yes, you need to test the site on that platform and improve the layout if necessary.

Towards the end of the page, provide some related content / random posts from your own site. Usually when the visitor reaches the end of the page, there's a chance that he'd close the page. Providing in-links increases the chances that he'd click on one of them and stay on your site for a longer time.

More bounce rate means user not stay on your site only open a page & go away.If the user find his/her need from your site then that stay on your site means bounce rate reduce.look & feel also matter to reduce bounce rate.

i would definitely agree to what the others are saying here... But is the high bounce rate the cause of less sales? It could be. May i ask how you are tracking conversions? Have you set up Goals on Analytics?

Just think from a internet user's POV. Does it give sufficient answers? Does the site look cheap? At least those are some of the things I consider when I'm on a site.

I really like put on the end of the article related post. I also try to bold key words by which possible that the visitors went to the site. This makes the site more transparent
