    Hi all,
I need some assistance from the experts here.

Currently my client's site is hosted in a shared hosting (I think it is Microsoft server). There is no control panel but only FTP for uploading of files. He requested me to create a wordpress blog for him and host it at my server (Cpanel). My client do not want to transfer his hosting to my server (as well as to point the domain DNS to my server) due to certain reason. So, I created the blog in a subdomain under my domain name (ie. clientblog.mydomain.com).

The question is : He wants the blog URL to be "blog.hisdomain.com" instead of "clientblog.mydomain.com". He wants the URL that appears in the browser address bar to be his domain (blog.hisdomain.com). Which means, when he type blog.hisdomain.com, his blog which is hosted in my server under clientblog.mydomain.com will show up provided the address bar show his domain.

Is there a way to do this. Please advise. Thanks in advance.

On your clients DNS server he will need to create a subdomain to point to your IP. Then on your server you will need to create the account under that subdomain.

This is fairly easy to setup if they can setup the DNS on their server. If they can't touch the DNS on their server then it will be quite a bit more work to get it working.

    Thanks for your reply.

If you mean that the pointing to my server in Domain Host, I don't think they have such a feature.

Can I use htaccess to do this? Does htaccess works in Microsoft server?

    Please advise. Thanks.

htaccess is in apache, odds are they are running IIS. To go this route its going to be a bit of work. If you want go this way then I would suggest posted to the ASP forum asking for some help from programmers.

My personal choice would be to contact their current host and ask them to setup the subdomain to point to your domain. Most hosts should have no problem doing this. If you send the host an email CC a copy to the client as well.
