    About JPEG

JPEG is an image compression technique developed by Joint Photographic Expert Group and the images which are compressed by using this technique generally have .JPEG or .JPG file extension. Since, JPEG uses loss compression thus makes image files smaller than their original sizes which eventually take lesser space on the storage media. Thus, due to its small size, JPEG image file format is most commonly used in World Wide Web, email attachments, etc.

However, despite of its highly usage, we’ve probably faced a problem - JPEG image file lost.

Why Lost Jpeg File could Be Recover

Most of computer disks have something called a file allocation table. Essentially, a file allocation table (FAT) is a table of contents that tells the computer where files on the disk start, how long they are, and what their names are, etc. If your disk's FAT gets corrupted or lost, the computer has no way of knowing what data on the disk is part of a file. Actually, when the computer deletes a file, it doesn't actually delete the file; it just removes that file's entry from the file allocation table. The actual contents of the file are still on the disk.

How to recover JPEG File on MAC

If you have lost your photos from disk or card, do not panic, just follow these steps to recover them.

    # Do not store any new photos on memory card until you have recovered the lost photos.
    # Download the Jpeg File Recovery for Mac.
    # Install it to your Mac for free. Launch the software then you can start your plan.
    # Scan partitions to find lost files
    # Preview and save what you deleted or lost photos.

The Difference between JPEG and PNG

JPEG is a standard image compression mechanism. JPEG is designed for compressing full-color images of real-world. JPEG is "loss", meaning that the image you get out of decompression isn't quite identical to what you originally put in. JPEG is intended for compressing images that will be looked at by humans.
In 1995, a number of people banded together and created a completely patent-free graphics format called PNG, PNG was created to improve upon and replace GIF as an image-file format not requiring a patent license. Portable Network Graphics is a bitmapped image format that employs lossless data compression. PNG is superior to JPEG because of it has better compression and supports millions of colors.

I don't think this is possible if you are using MAC.

After all, it is used for designing.
