How to receive 100+ submissions to Directory every day

I opened this new directory SearchNet.US and want to know what should I do that I start getting atleast 100+ submissions to my directory every day.

My directory allows Free, Reciprocal & Featured Listing of Websites and Articles. Please advise

 

The best way is to add your directory to directory lists.

There are a bunch out there but the following come to mind:

I know there are a few more big ones but those are the three I use.

 

First off remove the reciprocal option as Google will penalize you for offering it.

You might want to consider a new hosting company with the directory making use of a lot of large graphics it makes it very slow.

I opened your site and then started typing this message, it still hasn`t finished loading and I get a nasty gray background meaning I can't read nowt.

$5 for a featured link for 3 months wont pass with most submitters, try changing it to a year. Submitters don't want to be coming back to your directory that often to check their links and make payments, etc.

You might also want to look into one of the deeplink mods that is available for phpLD as this usually attracts more customers who are willing to pay for submission. As will making your URL's search engine friendly.

Your submission rules state that you are a family friendly directory, these do not constitute family friendly (if you cant stick to your own rules don't expect others to):

Note, the site did seem faster as I started browsing more so my connection may have been involved a little.

I would also suggest you break down your sites a little better, you have a lot of sites listed but still have loads of empty categories.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have implemented some of the suggestions. For empty categories I am building the contents and soon all categories will have the contents.

 

You should also add www.directoryrate.com to this list.

 

Add your directory to the directory lists, and then you will receive more than that in around 2 month. My site gets around 400 submissions per day, though half of them are spam.

 

Empty categories is very bad for sites where the business is to list sites, and aid promotion for a fee.

People will notice the empty cats, and think negatively. I've been there and it's not good.

Try for low cost advertising, submit to more directories. Search and submit to directories which offer cheap featured listings so you can get better visibility over the crowd.

 

The first thing i saw, as a possible interested on purchase a listing on a directory, is the alexa's rank.
In your case it is too low (13 million and something), so i guess you need to work hard getting a good page rank (< 100,000) to be able to get real clients.

Per example, this forum is on the alexa's 1,578 rank.

 

Most of the visits to free directories are auto or semi-auto bots or submission companies.....waste of bandwidth if you ask me.

My site is hardly 1 month old and that is a reason that Alexa rank is too high. The way traffic is coming on my site since last 1 week I expect a good Alexa rank within 3 months period. I am also trying to build links in all the categories so that none of the category is empty.
