    Hi Friends,
I have a simple question regarding paypal. How to make 100% sure that the money sent through paypal cannot be retracted back.

I have heard lot's of times when people made the payments through paypal and when they received the services, they just sent a complain to paypal and they got the money back. So how to make this 100% full proof ??

    Does anyone has any ideaS??

    Thanks

thats why each time you're dealing with your customer, prepare them with invoice. so with that invoice you can fight back your issue with paypal. :)

    Thanks S-I,
But say, if you are doing 200 transactions per month and if 20 of them cancell them, then contesting 20 transactions every month will be a lots of work.

Paypal should provide some concrete way by which the vendor should have the authority that payments made cannot be contested. So, the vendor will make sure the clients sign that agreement before they make a payment.

    Any other ideas?

hence people use moneybookers (or so they swear by it) that the transaction on moneybookers cannot be reversed. Each system will have its pros and cons.

S-i says correct. An invoice can fight ur issue...The invoice makes sure to paypal that the buyer did get wat he/she bought!

you can't have a 100% fool proof confirmation. go to the ebay.com forums and you'll find that sellers believe paypal caters to the buyer. all the buyer needs to do is purchase the item, then call their bank or credit card issuer and say item or service was not as described. the buyer will get their money back. paypal can help protect the seller of items if you have a mandatory signed receipt that can be verified online that the item was recieved but the buyer claims it was not. but in cases where they tell the bank that the item was not as described, then you lose either way. i've been doing paypal since around 1999 and have about 900 verified transactions and had only one case where i got the charge back on selling an iPod. i had signature receipt but could only pound sand.

Not just an invoice. The invoice is only one part of the equation, you will need proof of delivery. So make sure that when you deliver your goods, you use a reputatable courier service with online tracking and proof of delivery like DHL or Fedex. This way when you get the signature of the customer and it is delivered to their address, they cannot dispute that they never received it.

Of course with an address, you have to do your due diligence and not send someone who has a US Paypal account and mailing address is in Mongolia or something. Never deal with unverified accounts. Also use the Paypal merchant services to receive money, ie Paypal Invoice, Request Money, Buy Now or Subscription services.

Not sure if this was just a hypothetical number, but if you're doing 200 transactions per month, and 10% of those cancel, you're doing something wrong.

One way you can avoid (not 100%) is to provide the correct paperwork to your client.

First, obtain a Statement of Completion if you have provided a service. This document should state that the work is complete and satisfactory, signed by them, and provided back to you, and state that they will be paying you for the services rendered.

Once you have the Statement of Completion in-hand, invoice your customer for payment.

If you every run into a dispute, you have the proper documentation to avoid someone taking advantage of you.

    Some food for thought.

Then again since Paypal is not present physically to witness the delivery of the item, it would be different to determine if the seller actually sends anything.

I am not sure about the UK but here in Singapore, the post office does offer Registered Post which would register the recipient to sign a receipt whicah can be retrieved from the post office. If you need an extra layer of security, you can pay a couple more cents for a return receipt card where the recipient would sign and the post office will send you back that card. At the same time, there is insurance which you can pay to insure you up to $500.

I know those options do not offer real time tracking but it should work. If Paypal cannot trust the post office system then who can you trust ?
