How To Readjust Image Size In Photoshop Cs5?

How do you readjust image size in Photoshop CS5? I selected medium-rectangle banner in Photoshop CS5 New Document Window pop-up but I need to readjust the image size because the image is too big. The image isn't fitting inside the medium-rectangle banner correctly. I downloaded a logo image from Google images and I'm having trouble figuring out how to resize it to fit within the dimensions of the medium-rectangle banner. I'm trying to make medium-rectangle banner and other various size banners to advertise my services in the small biz ads section on different classified ad sites. I need some guidance on making banners in Photoshop CS5. Thanks.

    Hi there,

Just print screen of the screen of the website at 100%.
Paste it on photoshop with opening new document.
Crop the area where you want to have the banner.
then press Ctrl + Alt + i to get the size of the banner and then resize the image you got from Google.

Let me if it helps or you like my answer.

Just click 'image' then 'image size' in the top bar or Ctrl+Alt+I (as mentioned above)
adjust the width to the size you want, the height will auto adjust
then use the crop tool to crop it down to the height you want.

    or

you can click 'edit' then 'free transform' (or Ctrl+t) and drag it to the shape you want. However, that might stretch the image one way or the other and it won't look very good.

    Hi,

After clicking Ctrl+Alt+I , plz remove the tick from the check box of Constrain Proportions if you want to check the size of only height or width.

No need to go for Ctrl+t.

Hi i always find this that helps.
Open a document, to the size that is needed, then drag your image in.
Once your image is in, You can now transform it down and adjust it,
CTRL+T and once the box is around the image, Hold SHIFT while dragging.

    I find this method usefull.
Note that when adjusting an image larger, you should make sure
the resolution of the image is higher or the image will pixelate.

you just want to re-size the picture, right (just one layer)?
    - right click the picture
    - click on "free transform"
    - the picture should have have an outline of it's size
    - if you look up you will see "w: 100%" and "h:100%" (width and height)
    - change it to whatever you want, the image should change it size accordingly
    - you can also do it manually (change the size without typing percentages) by dragging the squares on
the black outline (the squares on the corners)
Bonus: if you want it's size to change proportionally(so it doesn't look squished or something)
click on the link icon between the 100%" and "h:100%" and just change one of the two (h or w)

a video of the process to make it easier:

    hope that solved your problem!
