Hi, Apart from digg.com and stumble Upon where else on the web could be find mass internet users for publicizing blogs. Please advice.
Find an under-exploited keyphrase and optimize for it via the search engines. Grab yourself a keyword analysis tool like Trellian or Wordtracker and you wouldn't believe the number of keyphrases that are searched thousands of times per day that aren't being directly targetted (all current search results are for deep pages in related sites). Find an over-searched, under-targetted search term and that's how you can make plenty of $$$ from minimal SEO.
iitob is dead on accurate! Just look through the posts on the DP forum searching for link building, inbound links, etc. and you will see this is a major focus for many of us. Never underestimate the value of being high in the major search engines for the right phrases.
SEO is the way to go before you go for sorcial media optimization, Commenting on blogs too help you to promote your blog.
linkbait. viral content will help you gain natural buzz. If you find something good and post it on your site, a few diggs may help it get popular. make sure you have a stable server. digg front or even second page stories can crash the majority of servers.
i wrote about that in a thread at DP itself do read it and leave your comments and suggestions http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=645533
How do I reach the masses? This is a question that every marketer asks. More importantly, how do I reach the right masses? I think proper SEO is something to start with, focus your website on a specific topic if possible and work from there on. Do some keyword research and figure out what keywords or phrases aren't completely saturated already. Currently, social bookmarking is a hot topic, you get tons of backlinks, but the traffic is questionable at most. I did some very cheap social bookmarking and got like 500+ backlinks. Considering all the factors, I think they might contain some value, but for how long I do not know.
