hi, i have always ranked well on msn and google, but could never rank well in yahoo, any tip? something different with the other se? Thanks GFX^^
Yeah they love those rss feeds. Links also help with ranking in all 3 big SEs. Getting listed in the Yahoo directory may also boost a site.
I have the exact reverse problem. My sites do really well in Yahoo, pretty well on MSN and nothing on Google (could be a Sandbox thing). RSS used to work well, but they seem to have taken the RSS links out of the SERPs in the last update - so not sure if they will still help (probably couldn't hurt). Yahoo also likes good title and H1 tags. Lots of backlinks also help. -Ramprof
I dont worry about Yahoo, if I have a strong results on Google then yahoo positions usually follow, but it does take longer. IMO MSN are the best, biggest, quickest crawler at the moment, then Google and then yahoo
In my experience Yahoo looks at age much more than others. Yahoo is also very reliable when it indexes, never drops.
Ya. I too get my sites nearly at top in Yahoo and MSN but Google has been a problem for me always. You work with backlinks a lot and then check the results
A long time ago I read they preferred a higher keyword density than MSN or Google. I have not personally looked at that theory.
I believe the higher keyword density has changed. Always good to have keywords in the title tag and in and h1 tag.
Web Gazelle has good advice in Keywords in the title tag. Search engines are looking for a lot more these days. They also want to see the Key Words in the First Paragraph of your site. SEO Knowledge is really the way to go now. One sight I found thats really good at helping in that department is seochat.comYou can create Advanced Tags conferming you are the Owner/Author of the Content. They also offer a Free SEO Product with Support for learning SEO. I've started integrating some of it into my web site Knowledge Creates Power. Cheers and Happy Listings!
