whilst doing research for a client who is trying to rank in Google UK for 'basingstoke accountants' (clients site is www. cranleys. co. uk) i have noticed that the top of the screen when you search for that you get the Google local business results showing the location of some accountants in the town of basingstoke, my clinet doesnt appear for this until you press the more results from basingstoke option. Any ideas of how i can get them ranked higher in the Google Local Business Results, also we are aiming to rank no1 for the organic term too Given their site is years old and a PR4 this should be doable i feel. The puzzling thing ive found thus far is that they seem to have any more links coming in that rivials yet rank much lower. The link to show what i mean for local results is as thus http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=basingstoke+accountant&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-GBfficial&client=firefox-a thanks Carl
Well first you should consider for the local marketing and then apply that techniques while collaborating with Google Local
if you are targeting a keyword "accountant" just for Google Local (e.g. "accountant" for google UK), should you be adding link back to your website using anchor text "UK accountant" or just "accountant"? Someone has suggested i use UK accountant but then i became rank for "UK accountant" and not for the generic term "accountant" at all for Google Local.
Local rankings are tricky. You might want to read the following links: http://www.seobythesea.com/?p=374 http://www.smallbusinesssem.com/2007/02/16/10-likely-elements-of-googles-local-search-algorithm/ Using the word basingstoke accountant in the title tag and page content might be enough to do it.
In Australia, Google has a partnership with a company, TrueLocal, who provides the local business results. Get a free listing with TrueLocal, show up in the Local results ...
So how long should it take to get up there on the first page. I do not have to many competitors and think I have done most things right. Anyone knows?
could not find the link http://www.smallbusinesssem.com/2007/02/16/10-likely-elements-of-googles-local-search-algorithm/
