Alright, so I have a confusing question I need to ask here.

Lately I've been thinking about getting into article marketing and I've been doing some keyword research. In the midst of doing all of this keyword research, I usually see that some keywords are better to get traffic from when their used in "phrase" searches instead of BROAD search terms.

So I guess my question is should I promote articles that are in "phrases" and are highly searched with low competition or is it smarter to promote BROAD search keywords with low competition and highly searched?

Some may find this question confusing but the fact is that among the keyword research, I've realized that not a lot of people decide to use "phrase" searches. If someone could shed some light on this.

I think what you are referring here is long-tailed keywords and for me I would select option one whereby you could use it to rank well in highly competitive niche and avoid the competitive for the tough keywords. To me, It's much better this way.
