How to rank for the UK search engines?

    I'm Canadian and will be moving there in a few years, but I might as well get the ball rolling. How would I go about ranking my current site (non uk) within the UK search engines? i.e. google uk? etc...

    Any advice guys?

    If you want to rank your website in UK, then you have to set UK Geolocation in GWMT, Google Analytics, and use Hreflang tag UK. It will help to rank your website in UK Region.

    It is also important to get backlinks from UK based resources. There are many forums and UK based blogs, create and maintain a presence on them.

    If possible pick a .uk domain and add your complete UK address, if possible with maps in your site. Now as said by MilesGeek, try to join forums from UK.

    Check local directories, forums, take part in them, also some PR sites could be a good start :)
