How to rank for targeted keyword in google?

    Let's say you have a long tail keyword in your domain, which contains a combination of two separate keywords that can be ranked for Google. And from those two you optimize for the one that gets the most traffic. How can one achieve this - from anchor texts specifically for that keyword?

    the domain name alone already has some weight from SEO stand point (assuming we have domain name that match the kw). backlinks are just another part of the SEO efforts.

    For a targeted keyword, i usually post alot of contents related to my target keyword. Through that, i ranked well on my targeted keywords.
