if i have a website containing 22 keywords and i want them to be listed on google first page.How much work is required to rank each keyword and what are the best seo techniqies to do that ??

I'm trying to do the same thing with my site. I want my homepage to rank high for a number of different keywords as opposed to any posts or articles that I've written. I'm currently building backlinks using the main keywords I want to be ranked for as the anchor text. I'm on the front page for two of the keywords so far (one I haven't done much backlinking for b/c it's not that competitive AND I haven't done any on-page SEO for that keyword; you can't find it anywhere on my homepage). My thinking is that if I can rank high for two keywords at once then I can add a few more to that list. Just keep building backlinks and it should work out.
