Enter your Cpanel and choose Fantastico De Luxe option. You'll find Wordpress there.

Did you delete the index file that hostgator automatically puts in there? Have you tried a manual install?

Try to add wordpress in your root directory manually using any FTP client.

This is should really be a "one click install" with your host.

Have you already setup the MySQL database for it?

Try deleting it and starting over from scratch.

    Hope that helps!

With Fantastico De Luxe it takes only 2-3 clicks to install wordpress on your site. Your problem can occur if you have previously installed a script and then delete the files from your server without uninstalling the script from your cpanel.

    finally, it worked!

not quite what i expected..... but thanks to you all for helping! :)

    what did i expected?
i thought it would be possible to put wordpress in my abc-domain and not in my hostgator account 123 domain with a subdomain.

    still understanding?

i will keep my eyes and ears open for advice, thanks
