How can I add banner on the sidebar for a wordpress theme that is not widget ready...I am just tired of looking for new themes that I decided not to change it even if its not widget ready...

So how can I add text html on my sidebar? Is it hard? Do I have to widgetize it or do I just go through the codes?

My first guess is to use the 'text' widget and paste the html for the advertisement inside it to display it.

Do you have something called sidebar.php in your theme files?

Edit the file if it exists.

Log in admin panel >> Theme Editor >> sidebar.php and add the code.
