Hi Guys I am only 4 weeks old (at least that's how I feel) I am actually 4 weeks in to building my web presence. I have a 30 minute video that I want to put on my website. It is in the form of a zip file but it is 250MB tried doing the compressed version when I made the zip file and it only compressed it 1%. Started to upload it and the ETA was 2 1/2 hours. Anybody know any quicker way to do this. Thanks
30 minutes of video? This is the MTV generation, average attention span of...sorry, where was I? Check your upload speed, for an 8MB download speed you'll be lucky to get a 500kB upload, it's slow. I'm afraid that you should edit your video if possible, consider reducing the size/quality and think about the bandwidth limitations of your ISP who may consider a few downloads to be outside your contract. What's the video of and is she worth it?
Do you want people to be able to watch it online? if you are uploading a zip file they will only be able to download it and I guarantee you no one will do that. You need to compress it into a flash file or quicktime file and emedd it onto your webpage or you could splice it up into 3 10 minute intervals (you tube only allows 10 minutes) and upload it to you tube and then embed the videos onto your website.
