how to protect yourself when starting a filehost

    i want to start a filehost but i want to know how to protect myself from lawsuits etc. i plan on having the servers in the US since the US traffic is what im trying to target.

    Just have a DMCA/Abuse page so content owners can report illegal files hosted on your site. You are protected under the DMCA Safe Habor provision as a service provider provided you respond to DMCA takedowns and remove the offending files.

    I fully understand that this is an old thread but does the sample DMCA Example provided by 'The Universes' still a current version or has it been updated to a more modern version.Could someone help me on this one please as i have to add one to my new site Filethe.net very very quickly.
