Are you using asx metafiles or linking direct to mms ?
If you are using a metafile you could use .htaccess to stop them leeching.

What sort of cricket? 1st class, Tests, ODI? And which teams?
I have been trying to get the Aust Cricket Board to look at this but haven't had much luck yet.

I would love to compare notes if I could.

    Regards
    Jim

Then you can try to place .htaccess file with the contents like this into the folder where your video files are or higher:
    RewriteEngine on
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^$
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://(www\.)?yourdomain.com/.*$ [NC]
    RewriteRule \.(avi¦AVI)$ http://www.yourdomain.com/images/leech.gif [R,L]
    Code (markup):
("avi¦AVI" should be the extension of your video files).

Well geez Moshin, If you would stop shouting for starters.
I don't know why my suggestion was LOL? Basically Uptime Agent has spoonfed you the answer.
Are these pirated cricket streams? Is that why you don't want to talk about the site?

Ok so presumably you are using asx files on your apache server that point to your windows streaming server? Repalce avi with asx as Uptime has described.

    jimboot,
Thank you for "protection" :). It's appreciated.

    mohsinkhalid,

We are not sure exactly what tutorials you need but we'll try:

    1. Create a file named ".htaccess" (with the dot at the beginning) on your local machine.

    2. Put the following code into that file (just replace yourdomain.com with your domain name):
    RewriteEngine on
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^$
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://(www\.)?yourdomain.com/.*$ [NC]
    RewriteRule \.(asx¦ASX)$ http://www.yourdomain.com/images/leech.gif [R,L]
    Code (markup):
    3. Create "leech.gif" image. That is the image which should the others see when trying to access your video file directly - not through your site.

    4. Upload the "leech.gif" into the "images" folder of your site.

    5. Upload the ".htaccess" file into the root folder of your site.

    6. Try if that works.

    That's it.

    mohsinkhalid,

As a side note - that is not a JavaScript solution. But if it will work for you then even if someone will get the direct link to the video file from your side, he will not be able to use it because files will be accessible only if accessing them from your pages.

    mohsinkhalid,

As we can understand, the main problem for you is not that users are able to see the direct link but the fact that users are using the direct link to download your videos. If yes, then did you try to implement the above solution?

Moshin do you have a link to your site? Btw I'd be more inclined to help if you responded to my original post. But having said that, is your problem is people watch the video then do a properties lookup and see your mms:// link?
