How to protect illegal sale of your ebook?

    Hello Friends,

I was wondering if there is any way you can protect against illegal resale of your ebook?
What are some preventative mesures I can take to ensure my hardwork isn't stolen?
Is it advisable to take legal action should someone illegally take your work?

    Thanks

Unfortunately, if your product is any good, it will get uploaded to RapidShare, DepositFile and the torrent sites over and over again. It's really a game of whack-a-mole - sending DMCA notices and then seeing your work uploaded again a few days later under a slightly different name.

    Thanks

the internet is so unregulated, it's probably more of a hassle then it's worth to be honest. I know it's not what you want to hear, but I say bite the bullet... and spend your time more productively moving forward. (unless of course this is like over a lot of money/sales)

Whoever wanting to steal your work will do it even with a password because passwords are hackable and there is software made expressly to break whatever protecion you think about

This is very sad but the only way to avoid it is not publishing.

i think there is a software for this. where the ebook has digital signature whichwill be dedicated only for that particular buyer.
the generated code signature will be on that ebook, if s/he distribute it s/he will be tracked. ican't remember the name :D

You can put a "Protected by DMCA.com" logo on your site and book. So people know if they steal it they aren't likely to just get away with it. Go to dmca.com/logos.aspx
