    Hello all,

Do you know a freeware software to protect flash source files? I need to prevent people to decompile my .swf files.

    Thank you..

Now thats a hard question, truthfully I'm not sure there is software for that... even templatemonster.com (which has a very secure system) can be "decompiled". What I have used on my arcade website so people cannot download it (in turn can't decompile it) is hotlink protection. How it works is instead of
    gamesite.com/games/games.swf
    its
    gamesite.com/games/hotlink.php?id=numbers
It's a good system and it is secure.

Yeah, I think if you are smart enough to be doing the hotlinking, then you are probably able to figure that one out.

Isn't there something in the ht access you can do about your flash files. I seemed to have read something about this someplace, but cannot locate the info. I know the Flash Saving plug in does a good job of saving flash files from web pages, but it doesn't always do it. However, there are copies in the temp folders which are a breeze to access.

Tearing the file apart after you've saved it on your hard drive is a different issue and I'm not sure how they are protected, however, I do have a flash program that supposedly extracts images from flash files. Haven't tried it yet. I'm new with all this image software, just giving a 2 cent post here. Good luck.

I know that myspace has something installed on theirs because I tried to use one of the music videos and I just get that smiley error with the tears coming out. So , it is possible. ... I think !

nothing is impossible these days, well i have lots experience with flash and if someone steels my work just like that, i would be very happy on one hand because someone likes my work on the other hand he could try to sell it, but there about 1% of thefts of this kind, because when you get the swf, decompile it to fla you get bad quality images and shapes.

i feel sorry for those guys who are steeling others people works.

Actually there are lots of programs that can encrypt your swf action scripts...
Try, for example, SWF protector from dcomsoft
    Pretty nice tool…
